• Dressing Up a Simple Outfit

Have a fancy event to go to, but nothing to wear?

My idea of “dressing up” is pretty simple — it’s putting thought into what to wear, and paying attention to the details. I don’t have a lot of fancy wear in my closet, which is a bit ironic, as I love going to many different kinds of events – events that oftentimes requires you to dress a bit… fancier. My solution to this? Investing in classic fancy-wear staples, like a good black dress (I’m still searching for a good all-purpose black dress!) My birthday was a few weeks ago, and I spent a long time combing through my closet trying to find something nice to wear. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore, and just pulled out a darling little floral dress (similar here). Not the fanciest, but pretty comfy and pretty enough. To dress it up a bit, I added dainty accessories: necklace and earrings. I also added heels and a neutral bag, and the finishing touch — a high pony and dark lips. It’s all in the details, I tell ya 🙂 In the wintertime, I’ll be doing the same sort of thing – dark lips and fun accessories like a velvet hair ribbon or head wrap!

Now that fall is in full swing, how are you guys enjoying the season? The days are flying by so quickly, I have to remind myself to slow down and take it all in. Slowly but surely…

I hope you guys have a wonderful, crisp week. Can’t wait for hot chocolate and marshmallow weather. Yummy. Thanks for stopping by today!
