    Hellllllo 2017!

As we get older, the years seem to fly by so much faster. As someone who tries to  life in the present, one of my major life goals this year is to really savor each and every moment, experience, interaction, etc.  As a millennial living in a fast-paced world full of events to attend, news to absorb, people to meet, ladders to climb (I could go on… but I won’t) it is so easy to rush through a never-ending to do list.

Luckily, I’ve found that writing in a journal (I keep a private online journal as well as a regular gratitude journal) really helps me to slow down just a bit more and really reflect on my day-to-day experiences. Journal writing also helps me to sort through challenges, as well as sort through my emotions and help make decisions. To me, writing in my journal regularly keeps me healthy… and sane.

In subsequent weeks, I will like to share goal setting techniques that have worked in all areas of my life: personal, career, relationship, blogging, etc.

Editor’s note: I was fortunate enough to work with a local photographer, Kasmira Kit, to take the above photos. We met in Downtown Sacramento and shot a total of four looks in one session. Typically, I prefer to choose an outfit that I’ll wear for the day and then snap photos of it before/after work (as that makes the most sense for my blog), but I’ve been so busy lately that a photo shoot specifically to shoot blog photos was my only option.

The outfit | Found this adorable grey/dark green accordion dress in a boutique in San Fran, but linked a similar option here. I see myself wearing this dress in a variety of different settings – work, date, meetings, party. The taupe high-low cardigan (similar here) is a dressy outerwear option. Pops of color in the lipstick, bow hair tie (ran out of pink but the black one is super versatile), jewelry (similar necklace here, and these gorgeous tear-drop earrings that my sister makes), and heels amps up the look.

I hope your 2017 is off to a fabulous start and I’m wishing you well this month! New month, new year – are you ready!?! As always, I super appreciate you stopping by today!!
