I am so, so excited about today’s post.

    For three reasons:

    1. The photographs. They are absolutely stunning! I just started working with a local photographer (she’s AWESOME) and we shot these photos right before I had to leave for work. This was our first session together (my first blog photography session ever actually – so fun!), and I’m already looking forward to subsequent early morning sessions as it works really well with my schedule. Note: For the most part, I’ll still have my normal photos (the ones taken by me – you can tell which ones those are.  ha ha) but every once in a while I’ll have more professional (i.e BEAUTIFUL) photos thrown in for a fun treat!
    2. The outfit. The colors in this outfit screams AUTUMN but it’s still cool enough to wear in the the summer time as well as year round. The scallop detailing on the mauve skirt is girly/adorable, the black/white cotton tank is chic and comfy, the black long cardigan is a must for fall/winter, and the nude briefcase purse is perfect for pulling the look together. All great pieces that will play well with others 😀
    3. The PUMPS. Yes, this deserved a separate line item. I have never really been a pumps kind of gal, but lately, I’ve been noticing how a fantastic pair of pumps really spruces up an outfit and gives it a nice little kick. To me, they are becoming… (yes, you guessed it) an investment piece/closet staple. Now mind you, when I say investment, I’m talking more than $75 but less than $100. These lovely suede navy blue Michael Kors pumps are less than $100, so I do consider (and will treat them like) an investment piece. These beauties are classic, have a good heel to them (not too low, not too high), the color is unexpectedly gorgeous (is as classic as a black but unique because it’s actually a dark navy blue), and has very chic detailing on the back. I definitely had a bounce to my walk in these pumps. (We’ve got more bounce in California)

Well, and also, as Carrie Bradshaw says… “”The fact is, sometimes it’s really hard to walk in a single woman’s shoes. That’s why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun.”

I hope you enjoyed this post, lovely and supportive readers! I would love to know what are some of YOUR investment shoe must-have/essentials?

You can shop the look below! Cardigan, pumps, and skirt are exact, others are similar. I’m still learning the whole blogging/linking thing!

Thank you to the lovely Sarah Everett for taking these photographs and elevating my everyday with the photo session. Seriously, it made my day so much sweeter 🙂
