• Stepping Outside of My Comfort Zone {in Black Jeans}

    When was the last time you stepped outside of your comfort zone?

    Since starting this blog, I have found myself much more inclined to try to step outside of my comfort zone – which I think is one of the best things I’ve gotten out of this little blog of mine! It’s something that I want to try to do more in day-to-day life, no matter how difficult and challenging it can be. The most important thing is to start with small steps since major life changes are all about a series of small steps. Last night, I was able to step outside of my comfort zone in a few (small but meaningful-to-me ways):

    • I wore black jeans! I have never, ever owned a pair of black jeans in my life, until now. This was a big styling step for me!
    • I attended a networking event by myself, and had a great time! I motivated and challenged myself to meet 5 new people and really “connect” with them. I’m happy to report that I met and connected with 6 or 7 people. Go, me! (Although there was one cutie there that I did not have the courage to approach. Next time! Slowly but surely, right!?)

    Not bad for a Tuesday night! I was also able to catch the second half of the OKC vs GSW game, such a thrilling series it is turning out to be. Can’t wait for the NBA finals!

    Quick details on the outfit I wore to network: black jeans, nude heels (I needed something to elongate my petite frame), a new favorite gray sleeveless turtleneck (I’ve already worn it twice!), floral head wrap, and a multicolored striped bag (gift from my sister when she went to Vietnam recently). Simple and approachable!

    What are some ways in which you’ve stepped outside of your comfort zone lately? Or if not, what’s holding you  back? Do share below, and let’s keep each other motivated! 🙂
