    Dress – Romwe
    Jacket – MinkPink
Shoes – Francis Sarto (from Marshall’s)
Bow headband – Boutique in Midtown Sacramento
Bows are probably one of my favorite things ever! I can be girly at times (or let’s be real – most of the time!), and tend to gravitate towards flouncy dresses, florals, and bows. I purchased this dress at Romwe’s online store, and I was very pleased that I was finally able to wear it! I love the big bow detail in the back, and it’s such an adorable dress to wear for any occasion (hmm maybe I’ll even wear it to my cousin’s wedding in May!?)  For this look, I added waves to my hair and put on my favorite floral headband with the cutest bow detail! I love this headband and think it’s such a great way to add some girly fun to an outfit.  I also paired this look with my new nude cut-out booties from Marshall’s. They are super cute, and toughen up the look just a bit, don’t you think?! To further toughen up my ultra girlie look, I threw on a black “motocross” type jacket.
I can’t believe February is almost over… It is one of my favorite months, and it always goes by so quickly. Lately, I’ve been struggling with remaining positive and looking on the bright side of things. For the month of February, I challenged myself to be positive, think about others more, and to kick negative thoughts out of my head. It’s been difficult at times, and some moments are harder than others. I’ve learned that the mind can be a very powerful thing, and it’s something I want to think about in March. It’s so interesting how we can make our minds believe anything it wants to.  On another note, I read an article recently that said that people who are nervous or anxious are partly that way because they focus too much on themselves (not in a vain way – they just focus too much on what they’re experiencing internally). So knowing that, I want to try and focus on the positives, as well as thinking more consciously about other people, AND push negative thoughts and assumptions to the side. Mind over matter – isn’t that what people always say?! I’m curious to to know – has anxiety surfaced in your life recently, and if so, how do you deal?!
Thank you so much for visiting, and I hope you’re having a fabulous Tuesday! I’m having a great day so far, and I’m so excited for what’s in store these next few days!

Nude/taupe wedges – Guess (from Nordstrom Rack)
    Printed skirt – c/o Crossroads
    Yellow blouse – c/o Crossroads
    Gold leaf earrings – Claire’s
    White purse – thrift store
The other day, I wore this outfit to a Dress for Success Sacramento marketing meeting. I love combining prints and bright pieces together – it always makes me feel so confident! For this look, I put my hair in a high bun and added some simple gold leaf earrings to give a more polished vibe to my fun look.
So a little about Dress for Success… I have been interested in this nonprofit organization for awhile now, and a few years ago, I even tried to start an affiliate in Sacramento, but unfortunately, I never made it pass part 1 of the application process.   Fast forward to a couple years later… I’ve recently learned that Dress for Success Sacramento affiliate has been approved, and is now in the start-up phase.  Sooo exciting! I am so fortunate to be able to be involved in the start-up process, and I am learning so much already!
Dress for Success is a non-profit organization that is known for providing suits to disadvantaged women in the search for a job.  But it is so much more than that! The organization also provides disadvantaged women with a network of support as well as career development tools to help women become self sufficient and economically independent.  It is such an amazing organization, and I am so thrilled that it is coming to Sacramento! You can get more information by visiting their facebook page.
Although this post is titled “Dress for Success”, this isn’t typically an outfit I would wear in the workplace (depending on the company, of course!)  But, this is what I wore to a meeting, and I think it’s a perfectly fine outfit for that! Also, I went to the dogpark afterwards, and that’s where these pictures were taken 🙂
Thank you for visiting, and I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! It’s also Lunar New Year, so for those that celebrate, Happy New Year!!

  • … and it’s from the drugstore! I have been on the hunt for a good bronzer for the last few months… I’ve tried many different brands, and have finally found a great one! This one was recommended by the beautiful and inspiring, KathleenLights, a beauty You-Tuber who has the best videos on YouTube (in my opinion, that is). So without further adieu, let me introduce you to my favorite bronzer thus far…

The e.l.f. contouring brush and bronzing powder in St. Lucia!

Not only is this bronzer affordable (I believe it’s less than $5), but it applies so well on my skin.  Note: I have normal, slightly dry skin.  Usually though, whenever I apply bronzer, I can’t really see it on my face, unless I use foundation beforehand.  BUT, this bronzer applied beautifully to my face and without any foundation! Ever since purchasing this bronzer, I’ve been using it everyday, and I absolutely love it!

The bronzing powder is a matte brown (with just a bit of shimmer – but you can’t see the shimmer on your skin), and it’s neither too cool or too warm, which makes it perfect for contouring. It looks a little dark, so I would use a light hand and layer it on. I also like the blush that it comes with, it is a warm pink color with some peach flecks in it.  Both powders are not patchy and blends very well on the skin.  If you’re looking for a bronzer that works with many skin tones, stays on, and is perfect for everyday, this is your bronzer!

I used this bronzer for a natural, but slightly defined look when getting ready for a night of enchiladas the other week. I also want to get the other colors in this kit, but for now, the St. Lucia contouring brush and bronzing powder kit is satisfying all of my bronzing and contouring needs!

What are some of your favorite bronzers? Bonus if they’re affordable!
